I think Blizzard will attempt to leave as many things unchanged as possible, leaving innovation to very limited and focused places. At least, this is what I'm gathering from what we know so far. They know they have a working formula, and a fan base that REALLY wants something that's a direct sequel to the original masterpiece. So, we get cool, innovative stuff like overload, or a more damage per time weapon, and other cool units and abilities... but the core gameplay stays the same.

It will never be canceled. It might be delayed for months and years - but eventually, a StarCraft 2 WILL come out, and you're all going to like it.
