The_banana_republic

I suppose I should introduce myself. Here's the story...

Once upon a time,
The Banana Republic was born, and the world was good.
He then became simply the very best at everything he did.

The End.

I discovered the sc2 blog after looking around for a niche to start my own starcraft 2 blog! I wanted to create a blog that would focus on the analysis of unit roles and speculate on further developments of the game. Upon discovering this site, I decided that the sc2 blog does a much better job than what I could have done.

I've been playing RTS since I played the wc1 demo on my old old old mac computer. From that point on, I purchased every blizzard RTS to date. I still love all the blizzard RTS's, but one franchise has a special place in my heart -- starcraft. Starcraft was an immediate favorite. I can still remember my first experience playing it, and how the game felt to me at that time. The game was truly beyond anything else for it's time. I purchased the game the day it was released for the mac computer, and I've enjoyed the game since. I love the story and gameplay. Although much of the game's greatness can be attributed to the game mechanics, I feel that much of the sc story adds further meaning and fun to the game.

I used to participate on the forums at www.sc2base.com, until the community deteriorated. The community at that site were friends I had from a pre-wow guild known as the Legions of Azeroth (www.legionsofazeroth.com). Perhaps sc2forums will be a viable substitute.

I've read the starcraft novels, and I replay the single player campaigns for the sake of the story.

I've spoken with some of the sc2 developers briefly at the last blizzcon. Photos from my blizzcon experience can be seen here: (http://scu.facebook.com/album.php?ai...d24&id=7304153).

I love to analyze rts matches and unit roles. I have been labeled as a cheater or an unfair opportunist simply for utilizing units in innovative ways in my rts matches. My philosophy is that if something has been programmed into the game, it was meant to be used. I look to exploit every resource available in the games I play.

And lastly, why "THE_BANANA_REPUBLIC" alias? I really like the clothing brand (www.bananarepublic.com). Plus, I think the name has a really cool, commanding presence in computer games. "You were slain by THE_BANANA_REPUBLIC." Thanks for reading! Hopefully I didn't bore you all to death by talking about myself! :s
