When is StarCraft 2 coming out?

Post your speculations and any new information about the release date.

I know it's going to take A WHILE, but hell if I'm not holding my breath.

Unfortunately, it seems like we won't be seeing a beta this year. Taking that into consideration, my current bet is Christmas 2008.

What are your thoughts?

As much as I hate to say this, but I have to agree with you. GOSH DERN IT! I can't wait that long. I should just build a time machine and skip forward....

Well, It's been 9 years. And it has a lot to live up to.
SC is a perfect game, so to speak. Not bound the specifications of the PC, able to handle thousands on units in play, with balanced races and bugs that were cleared through 9 years of gameplay.
It might take a while before they consider the new game a fitting replacement for such a masterpiece.

Yes, I know. I just hope it will be out next year. It has been hinted in the scans, the last page, that the PC Gamer magazine says, "In ten years, check back with our August 2018 issue..." So, does this mean August 2008?

For sure the ultimate competitive real-time strategy game Star Craft 2 will be released after 2007. Who knows first month of the year 2008? I'm very much excited.

Anyway to answer your question : Ever heard of EB Games?

According to them 10/1/08, and it might be accurate as Blizzard said around fall . The price was expected, however, I thought they'd make a better game box, or perhaps that's just a current prototype.

If StarCraft goes from announcment to release in 14 months (including beta), It's reasonable, considering the late stage of development StarCraft 2 was announced at.

I'm gonna take a guess that its going to be sometime in 2009, even though its suppose to come out in 2008.
