In the new video from PCGamer there's a few Reapers that attack during the Phase Cannon bit. However, unlike in the first video these guys get right up to the phase cannons and shoot flames, which apparently makes the phase cannons glow orange (a "burning" damage over time thing perhaps?).

So it looks like reapers will have two forms of attack: the pistols and the traditional firebat flamethrowers. How do you think they'll choose which one to use? Will they switch to the fire when they're in melee range or will you have to manually switch between their weapons?

That's a good question. I think that it's either:

a) A change in their attack, from the time of the initial video to the new pc gamer video, or
b) A weapon upgrade.

I'd LOVE to have a switchable weapon, though. That would be awesome.

I got a feeling the will complicate the hell out of everything(abilities, resources, weapons, units), in order to cover up the fact that the orginal SC was perfect, and SC2 is just cashing in.

Yeah switchable weapons would be awesome, however, as EmoLisk said it will complicate the game as well.

So it has it's ups and downs, but I guess it will also make the game more strategic which is a plus to the gameplay, especially on multiplayer.
