We will see...

If any thing I will probably play sc1 until im old and grey... if sc2 is a master piece... Great, then I move up to it but I dont want to get my hopes up again. Blizzard should send out some message asking for veteran sc players to send them input on how the game should work... Not have some programmer that probably didnt work on sc1, or for that matter probably didn't even play sc1 making all the decisions!!! I may have no idea how to make/program a game but I do have an imignation that could rock the sc world.

i have to agree.. thats the problem with all game making companys they just hire new people to create the next set of a game.. which they prolly never played so they know nothing of it so it ruins it... like you said they need people who have played it or atleast get their imput on it

Yes, well remember that warcraft three aimed to become a new game genre: an RPS (role playing strategy). It is quite interesting to see how warcraft 3 was first intended to be played, and what it ended up becoming. Original plans sounded more like a forgotten realms/ myth the fallen lords type game.

It seems to me that sc2 follows more in line with what sc1 was.

This will be an obstacle for the single player campaign development. How do you create a game with so many choices from becoming too short? I mean, you have to create many extra levels that some players may not even touch. Surely, blizzard will see to it that there will be more than a minimum 7 missions to complete the campaign.

well what im sure they might do is take what they got and make certain missions manditory obviously the first and last one... but others as well for certain stories or other parts of the mission you have to do manditory missions to do others

I know this is impossible... but i have always wanted to play a game with a story line that changes with you... lets you make the decsion on whane and where to fight...

With that said if you win good... move on to what you want to do... if you lose, have a new scenario with a defeat theme.. Basically hide out rebuild start off in a new level... not replay the same level until you can find out how to beat the level...

So if your main goal was to ultimately defeat the zerg... say you lose move onto a level where your rebuilding and in a later scenario... go at it again... let the battles you win or lose decide where you end up.

haha well i think they are making it so you can pick your own place to start fighting at first but i dont think its like what your sugjesting... but that does sound pretty freaking amazing :P lol it would be a cool set up that would really benifit blizzard when people who havent played starcraft before come and play it lol but i wouldnt mind something like that... i mean when i first started playing a lost a few times on a mission it woulda been fun if i had to go to a different place to rebuild up my stuff and go back at it later on... it would help players who arent as experienced get better at it

It is a great idea. If blizzard uses this it could be alot of fun for all starcraft players good or bad! I mean if you keep losing in the sc game you shouldnt be getting a high rank, you should be losing rank... so I think the campaigns should have there difficulty based on your rank!! That way if you suck, the levels will be designed for someone that sucks to get an easier level. and to keep getting easier until they can finally get the hang of it. with that said... I am a pro so the levels should get harder and harder for me from the start.
