10$ says Blizzard will fuck up the Plot.

Speaking of Terrano's post - they got a great start, because of StarCraft and and BW story - both rocked.
How many people remember plots of 9 yearold games ?!

Thing is, I am sure they are stuck in this "WoW is the right thing to do things" , so they will stuff SC with characters, and screw up the plot they started in SC.
Man, I bet even anyone here could think up of better things to do with Kerrigan's char, then Blizzard's writers will...

But then again. I'd gladly loose the 10$, just as long as they do it right....

Bleh.

I'd gladly take you on that bet!

I think Blizzard knows what made StarCraft's plot work.

It's just like you said - 9 years after the original, and people still remember the plot! I have received many comments about the Kerrigan's Path post. Most people told me they actually remembered most or all of it! How many games that are this old are like that? Certainly not RTS games; those usually have absolutely no focus on the plot and the player's engagement in it.

I disagree. I think bilzzard will do a great job with the story. So far we haven't been disapointed with their games, so I doubt we will be in SC2.

Blizzard does the best with making sure the plot is spot on... There may be some things that are a little out of line, however I'll take your $10 bet on the generic direction of the story.

In the single player campaign, the player will have his/her own unique story. The choice of missions, their order, and the choice of discussion items with NPCs will provide a number of different outcomes.

My experience in these "choose your own destiny" type games is that each subplot tends to be rather shallow. At blizzcon, it was explained that the game will follow a football arc. Players will start from the same position, but will also find themselves reaching the same end game experience. Similar to starcraft 64.

It seems to me that it will be difficult to have an intricate plot throughout the game -- but that is not to say that it will not be done. At least in starcraft 2, character interaction won't be restricted to bickering at each other in the mission briefing room.

hmm idk what to say.. yes i think they will do good but how much of it will be changed is what i want to know... because from wc2 to wc3 they completely screwed up the plot line.. im not saying wc3 is bad but they completely changed things with bringing in 2 brand new races all at once and saying its going straight from humans and orcs fighting to humans orcs and elves fighting undead.. with the normal combat yes but they compeletely flipped the plot line into something new which im saying isnt bad.. and wc3-wow isnt bad i mean they kept same plot line but i strongly detest wow i mean for people like me who dont like those games the plot line is dead for us so we only find out what happens from people playing wow.. which i hate so we will just have to see what they do with sc2 and if they mess it up bad or little... all i can say is i like the start and end the same spot but pick your own destiny

Man I was a great at wc2, I was waiting for wc3 soo bad, then it came out and I was so dissapointed.. I didnt even buy it, it was a completely different game than I was into... I do go back from time to time and try to beat the campaigns on beyond the dark portal tho. man they were hard I think I have only actually beat them once with out cheating...

If this happens to SC2, I will be devistated.. I mean I still play SC alot and am very excited about SC2... Please Blizzard dont make SC2 some dumb game thats not even worth buying.

yeah teariz i agree.. wc2 was amazing i play that game quite a bit if i get tired of my other games its not that hard but it does put up a challenge.. especially if you try to cordinate things in a certain way lol.. wc1 was hard for me but i have yet to replay it since i dont have the disk anymore.. but we are right about one thing.. the plot line completely changed in wc3 i mean i like it its a good game but the hero based type of thing was not my style since i played melees all the time and i couldnt even get anywhere against normal computers... i mean how unrealistic is that? id have to take weeks just to finally get to a point where im decent in it... i mean sc its got no really unit unbalancing certain units can fight certain units better.. where wc3 you get a lvl 10 hero and beat the shit out of any guys... certain to say i would hate them to fuck up sc2 this way.. i totally love sc but if they mess up sc2 in anyways i think ill have quite a few things to say to blizzard basically im saying... no leveling up heros via exp only upgrades like normal guys and then dont shit the population cap and keep things balanced

I mean what they did with wc3 was ok "if it was a new game" but what blizzard does not realize im guessing is that, by changing up a game like they did in wc3 they kill there fan base and start over... If they do this to sc2 they will go in debt... I mean at any given time on any bnet server there are tens of thousands of players online that still play starcraft all the time, not to mention the what 9 million other inactive People that own sc. How many times do you get on bnet and decide to play a few games, and hear man im rusty I havent played in months? I know I say it, and I hear it all the time. Blizzard needs to think about what the fans want, because wether they want to belive it or not, there not going to sell more then the orignal sc if they make a game the sc fans dont like..
