Different Endings
It would be awesome if they made the game in a way where you could make certain decisions that would change the plot a bit. And based on those decisions there would be a different ending. That way if you played the game again, you could try making different choices and see how the game ends with that.
Possible? I think so.
Likely to be implemented by Blizzard? Probably not, but they could do it if they wanted to.

Hmm I agree, thats actually a really good idea, depending on what race you play. I'm sure they will have more options than the usual campaign.

I agree as well, but I believe that the game should have one 'canon' ending that you get the first time through, but when you choose to replay the campaign, you have the option to enable alternate endings, in which case, you are given a non-canon ending depending on your actions in the campaign. By having the canon ending the only one available on your first time through, players who rush through just to get the story don't get an alternate ending and end up confused over what happened.
If this is implemented it would increase the replay value of the campaign, but also leave room for a continuation using the official canon ending. However, all of this assumes that the campaign is very similar to Starcraft's, which doesn't seem to be the case from what I've seen of the Terran campaign; it seems very nonlinear, but I would assume it ends almost the exact same no matter how it's played.

I am afraid that the plot will be more complex and less dramatic, in order to prepare the Universe for the launch of the invevitable World of StarCraft, and I fully agree with Tilgen

I think that it would be very difficult to implement different endings, if not impossible. Let's think it pratical. We remember the days in SC1 (and BW) where the campaings had to be followed in a certain order, simply because, the entire story was built in that order. If we played it different, we would miss the story. That method of multiple campaings - one story, was that gave us a continuation over the firsts games. I mean, if we play SC2 with diffent endings, it would'nt have a REAL ending after all (imagine if Kerrigan would have lost the last battle in BW). Creating "non-linear" endings, or alternate ones probably won't be Blizzard's matter, it would be player's.
If we are thinking on having multiple endings, on the way that SC story was built, it's a major task to create multiple campaings (like: Zerg - Toss - Terran | Toss - Zerg - Terran) and those with multiple endings. Maybe them, we could have different endings.
Althought the game itself might be going to the counterwise direction. It might have different endings (possible if SC2 will be the last game and have a real finale). I'm saying that because of the very amplification on the pre-game play we already saw in Raynor's campaing.

Frankly, the chance of having different endings to SC2 is very small... Blizzard will need the strong plot and the cataclysmic ending, in order to set the stage for the next game...
